MEET THE EDITOR

I’m Heather, a developmental editor and story consultant who works primarily with romance, fantasy, and character-driven fiction. I help authors who feel like their story is close, but something isn’t quite working, figure out what’s holding it back and how to fix it in a clear, practical way.

My editing focuses on big-picture story elements like pacing, flow, character development, and emotional payoff. I approach every manuscript as a reader first, paying attention to where the story pulls you in and where it starts to lose momentum. My feedback is specific and actionable, designed to help you strengthen your story without changing your voice.

I offer manuscript feedback, story development support, and series continuity guidance, including help building story bibles for multi-book projects. I work collaboratively, making sure the process feels supportive and not overwhelming.

I’m a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association and ACES, and I’ve completed the Advanced Editing Certificate (Poynter/ACES). I also hold a Publishing Certificate from IAP Career College, with training in manuscript evaluation and the fundamentals of the publishing industry.

I work with a wide range of fiction, though I don’t typically take on horror or psychological thrillers. My goal is simple…to help you create a story that feels immersive, cohesive, and satisfying from beginning to end.
